Harrop-Procter Community Forest Road Fuel Treatments – Fall 2023
As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce wildfire risk, our community forest will be cleaning up woody debris along road edges this fall. This work will be done by contract crews who will be cutting and burning and/or chipping small diameter trees within 10 meters of road edges.
Crews will be working on Carson (Alexander) Road and on the East Harrop road behind the firehall. You can expect to see small amounts of smoke from burning of woody debris throughout the fall when conditions are good. Piles will be small and carefully tended to minimize smoke.
See photo below for an example of fuel treatment work in action this past spring.

Erik Leslie, RPF

HPCC is introduced about 20 minutes and 30 seconds into the podcast and Erik speaks 21 minutes in. You might even recognize the voices of two Harrop community members, Barry Gray & Ursula Heller.
