Harrop-Procter wins major community forestry award
Harrop-Procter community forest was recently awarded the Robin Hood Memorial Award for Excellence in Community Forestry. The award, which comes with a $10,000 prize, is based on the recommendation of a committee of BC Community Forest Association directors and senior Ministry of Forests’ staff.

UBC Press publishes “Community Forestry in Canada” with chapters on Harrop-Procter
UBC Press has just published a book entitled Community Forestry in Canada. The book is edited by Sara Teitelbaum, assistant professor in the Sociology Department at the University of Montreal.
Harrop-Procter community forest is discussed several times in the book, most notably in Chapter 10 Striking the balance: Source water protection and organizational resilience in BC’s community forests and in Chapter 12 Stronger rights, Novel outcomes: Why community forests need more control over forest management.
Chapter 12 was written by HPCC Forest Manager Erik Leslie.
